Recreational Levels Program

Within our recreational program at Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre, we have created a structured six level system to teach the safety and fundamentals of gymnastics, provide progress reports to parents, as well as motivate our gymnasts to achieve their goals and strive for greatness.

We take pride in our level system at Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre because it allows for continuous progress that lets gymnasts actively advance from each level and feel accomplished about doing so. “Failure” and “I can’t” are not part of our vocabulary at Winnipeg Gymnastics Centre, as our coaches encourage gymnasts to focus on what they can do now, even if extra practice is needed on other skills!

Level 1:

Level 1 focuses on safety within the gym. Gymnasts work on their listening skills while also practicing balance, coordination, and focus when beginning to learn basic gymnastics skills and positions.

Level 2:

Level 2 focuses on learning how to stand tall and confident. Gymnasts further learn and practice the fundamental skills while also learning proper technique and execution.

Level 3:

Level 3 focuses on body control; Gymnasts are taught the importance of muscle tightness and controlled movement.

Level 4:

Level 4 focuses on consistency; Gymnasts work on practicing with the attitude of “practice makes perfect” and are encouraged to execute their skills to the best of their ability every time.

Level 5:

Level 5 focuses on perfecting skills; Gymnasts are able to execute the basic skills with ease and can recognize how a “perfect” skill should look and feel.

Level 6:

Level 6 focuses on excelling; Gymnasts go above and beyond the basics and are motivated to work towards harder and greater challenges.
